A UNITED CATHOLIC VOTE means all Catholics voting together for
Catholic values and Catholic issues, regardless of ethnic background or political
party affiliation. Keep in mind that we Catholics have the numbers. We are 25 % of the country’s
population, and about 29 % of the total vote in the country; and we are
growing. The Catholic vote will be very instrumental in electing a President
in 2004, Senators and Congressmen/women in 2006, as well as a President in
2008. As voters, that is, united Catholic voters, we can hold the future of
the country in our hands. No political party can gain power without our vote. If they want our vote, then let them
earn it by supporting our values and our issues as they do for other voting
groups. CATHOLICS MUST BE
ENGAGED IN POLITICAL DEBATE, (click return button
to return to this page) To make our vote count,
we must all be registered, and we must all turn out on election day –
especially on primary day – to exercise our vote. We should exercise
this vote at every election, not just presidential elections every four
years. Keep in mind that it is the Senate that confirms judicial appointments
by the President. (It was the Supreme Court, not
Congress, that made abortion the law of the land.) REMEMBER, WHEN YOU GO INTO THAT VOTING
BOOTH, YOU ARE A CATHOLIC BEFORE
YOU ARE A DEMOCRAT OR A REPUBLICAN. SO VOTE YOUR CATHOLIC VALUES
